Master Yoga Adventure & Spa Island
with Camilla Strandmark & Petra Nilsson
Welcome to join MasterYoga on a journey to magical Iceland! Your retreat leaders for this week are Camilla Strandmark (resident in Iceland) and Petra Nilsson, both RYT 500 certified yoga teachers. A week where we explore Iceland's nature, hot springs, and spas in combination with daily yoga at lovely studios in Reykjavik, hiking, culture, and culinary food. We will be staying at Center Hotel Þingholt in Reykjavik for the entire week.
You will get to experience a number of Iceland's "getaways SPA/hot springs". Among them is Sky Lagoon SPA, a luxurious retreat SPA where the sea meets the sky. Here we experience the heart of Icelandic tradition in a geometric lagoon by the ocean. We will also visit Havmmsvik, which has been voted one of the most beautiful places in the world. Here, the raw beauty of nature meets peace and relaxation. This is one of the few places in Iceland where you can enjoy the geothermal springs and the cooling sea at the same time. There are eight different hot springs with varying temperatures, a wonderful steam bath, and a swim-in bar. They also have a nice restaurant, Stormur, which serves the best seafood soup ever. Located about 45 minutes from Reykjavik, the transfer here is also an absolutely magical experience!
Camilla lives in Reykjavik. She will guide us to unique urban gems, such as Grandi, one of Reykjavik's most charming and dynamic areas, located by the old harbor. In recent years, the area has been transformed from a traditional industrial area into a lively place filled with trendy cafés, restaurants, art galleries, unique shops, and, last but not least, its charming food hall where Iceland's best fish and chips are served! With its blend of modern creativity and historical atmosphere, Grandi is perfect for exploring local culture and enjoying the view of the sea and the surrounding mountains. We will also be doing guest yoga here at the Nuna Collective yoga studio.
A full-day excursion to Reykjadalur will be an adventure that we promise will take your breath away! Imagine bubbling mud pots, steam rising from mysterious hot springs scattered across the landscape like jewels in a crown. It's as if you've stepped straight into the pages of a geology textbook, but this time the wonders are all around you, waiting to be explored. We'll also put on our hiking boots for the day and set out on an unforgettable journey into the heart of Iceland's magical nature. We bring a packed lunch, hike, do yoga outdoors, and bathe in the hot springs.
A trip to the Golden Circle is also offered, as well as a free day in the program where you have the opportunity to ride an Icelandic horse if you wish, go to the Floating SPA, or perhaps just stroll around Reykjavik on your own. Yes, you will experience a truly enchanting week – read more about the program below.

A little trivia
The hot water river in the Reykadalur valley is one of the most
magical hot springs in Iceland. About 40 kilometers from the capital Reykjavík lies the town of Hveragerði, which means "hot
gardens" in Icelandic. This place is especially known for its hot springs, which are fed by the Hengill volcano,
but the real prize is the scenic hiking trail
that leads to a hot water river. Reykadalur is a valley
where the small town of Hveragerði and its hot springs are located.
The hot springs allow Hveragerði to grow fruit and
vegetables in greenhouses, such as tomatoes and bananas!
