Yoga & Adventure Retreat
ICE WONDERLAND

With Petra Nilsson

Icehotel, Jukkasjärvi
– A FROZEN ICON SINCE 1989 –

Welcome to join MasterYoga's fabulous winter retreat
"ICE WONDERLAND" with yoga teacher Petra Nilsson. We will spend the weekend at the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Kiruna, the world's first ice hotel, which is rebuilt every year with new architecture and design created with snow and crystal-clear ice from the Torne River.

An Arctic saga and an unforgettable experience.

ICEHOTEL

The Icehotel in the village of Jukkasjärvi outside Kiruna is the world's first ice hotel.
An icon that changes its appearance every winter with newly designed art suites and environments, created from the crystal-clear ice of the Torne River.

During this retreat, we will spend one night in the beautiful ice rooms at Icehotel. The beds are made of ice, but you will sleep in a sleeping bag on a regular insulated mattress covered with reindeer skin. The snow has an insulating effect that creates a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. It's like sleeping in a fairy tale –
"ICE WONDERLAND". The other nights we will stay in warm rooms at the Kaamos hotel.

You will encounter reindeer, ride a dog sled, see the northern Swedish countryside on a snowmobile tour, meditate in a lavvu tent, take a guided tour of the Icehotel, participate in yoga classes in the Torne Hall, and pamper yourself with Jukkasjärvi's 10-step Sauna Ritual.

Culinary experiences from northern Sweden, such as Icehotel's renowned ice menu dinner, dinner in a cozy local farmhouse, lunches outdoors in nature and in a wilderness cabin over an open fire, and traditional Sami lunch cooked directly over the fire, are just some of the culinary experiences we offer.

The Master Yoga & Adventure retreat ICE WONDERLAND can begin!

Thursday, March 5

At 1:20 p.m., Petra and a guide from IceHotel meet the yoga group
at Kiruna Airport.

Flights from Kastrup, Arlanda, Landvetter, and Oslo are landing.
They all land at the same time. Which is great for our transfer.

At approximately 2:00 p.m., a private bus transfer for Master Yoga will take you to the IceHotel.
The IceHotel will take care of your luggage at the airport.

Let your weekend begin!

3:30 p.m. Welcome to IceHotel Jukkasjärvi & Master Yoga Sweden.
Welcome coffee and snacks await you inside a heated Lavvu tent. Petra will go through the weekend's program while you enjoy your coffee and snacks. Then we will ground ourselves with gentle BreathWork & Meditation with Petra. Deep breathing will help you slow down and relax your body. You are here and now. Welcome!

Around 4:30 p.m. Check-in Ice Room - Icehotel Guide shows you the Icehotel and your ice room, and goes through the routines for your cold night.

6:30 p.m. Meet at ICE BAR.
Non-alcoholic drinks will be served in ice glasses before we move on to dinner together.

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Four-course ice menu dinner, ICEHOTEL Restaurant.
We enjoy IceHotel's renowned ice menu dinner in the warm and classic IceHotel restaurant. A fantastic dining experience beyond the ordinary, with carefully selected local ingredients and flavors inspired by Norrland.

9 p.m. Sleep tight! - Ice Dreams.

Friday, March 6

8:00-9:15 a.m. Morning yoga with Petra in the Torne conference room.
The newly renovated Torne hall, with its calm green walls,
sloping ceilings, and beautiful white chandeliers, is our yoga studio this weekend.

9:15-10:30 a.m. Breakfast at the Ice Hotel Restaurant and check-out from your "ice room."
The IceHotel staff will take care of your bags. Just make sure they are packed, and they will be moved to your warm Kaamos hotel room.

10:30-11:00 Guided tour by IceHotel guide.

11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Snowmobile tour in the beautiful snowy landscape.
Together with Icehotel's experienced guides, we set off on snowmobiles through snow-covered forests and across the sparkling landscape along the Torne River. After about an hour's drive, we reach our beautiful wilderness camp right on the riverbank. Here, the guide will build a campfire (on really cold days, a heated cabin awaits), and lunch will be cooked over an open fire. In the meantime, you can try your hand at ice fishing, learn how to make fire with a fire steel, or just take in the peaceful and magical nature. The tour takes about 4 hours, lunch is included.

3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Free time and check-in at Kaamo hotel rooms.
Your luggage has already been taken care of and is waiting for you in your "warm" room.

5:00–6:15 p.m. Hatha yoga, breathwork, and meditation with Petra.
A relaxing class where we stretch our joints and take time to recover
after today's wonderful snowmobile trip. A loooong Savasana awaits.

7:30 p.m. Two-course dinner at the IceHotel restaurant, featuring ingredients sourced from the forests, rivers, and villages surrounding the IceHotel. Another unique and flavorful dining experience as part of your Arctic yoga adventure.

Saturday, March 7

8:00-9:00 a.m. Morning Yoga Yin/Yang/Lymphatic Massage with Petra

9:00 a.m. Breakfast at the IceHotel Restaurant

10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. Dog sled ride with coffee break.
Experience the dogs' enormous joy as they work while you travel through the beautiful winter landscape on this dog sled ride. The only sounds you will hear are the dogs' breathing and the sound of the sled's runners against the snow. The tour includes wilderness coffee and cake served by an open fire.

12:00 p.m. We gather outside the reception area to take a walk together up to the village to visit the Nutti Sami museum and meet reindeer. We start by enjoying a traditional Sami lunch cooked over an open fire in their café in front of a crackling open fire.

Personal Time

3:00–4:30 p.m. Yoga class “Soulful Yin” with Petra.
A relaxing and restorative class this Saturday afternoon before we continue our hike and pamper ourselves a little extra with a northern Swedish tradition: the sauna.

5:00 p.m. Jukkasjärvi sauna ritual.
We continue to take care of body and soul in Jukkasjärvi's cultural sauna and are guided through a ten-step sauna ritual where the contrasts between hot and cold are said to have health-promoting effects. We try everything from sauna bathing, birch branch whipping, washing with tar soap, dipping in the Torne River, and the heated outdoor bathtubs.

8:00 p.m. Closing dinner at Hembygdsgården.
In this timber-framed building dating back to 1768, the fire crackles in winter. Here we enjoy good food and drink in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. A cozy setting for our three-course closing dinner, with carefully selected ingredients from the region's rivers, mountains, marshes, and forests.
